Oh so flirty but nowhere near thirty

I am 18 years old and like any other girl my age, I’m always trying to look older rather then younger. This is an age-old tale though young women spend their youth always chasing after knowledge, experience and the grace a women posses.

But as we get older it completely changes, and now its different it’s a search for the fountain of youth we seek. As history shows it is human nature that we always want to be what we are not or have what another person does. Women and girls go to extremes to please society’s already big expectations of us. For centurys all women have done is tell the girl next to them how they aren’t good enough, how their skin is to oily, their hair isn’t shiny enough or that they’d look better if they went down a couple dress sizes.

My question is though why do we do it? Why don’t we allow everyone to feel comfortable in their own skin, instead of giving girls more pressure then they already have and causing them more issues internally then they’d already cause themselves?

How did we allow others to make us become this way?
